Arrakis Emerges from Stealth with $38M to Bring AI to Industrial Sectors
Arrakis, a London- and Paris-based startup building an AI 'operating system' for industrial companies, has emerged from stealth with $38 million in venture capital funding. The company raised a $30 million Series A led by Blossom Capital, with participation from Accel, GFC, MainObject, and Rerail, following a $7.5 million seed round led by Accel. Individual backers include Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel and OpenAI's head of business products, Olivier Godement. The Series A values Arrakis at $140 million post-money. CEO Rafael Quintanilla, a former Accel vice president, argues that most AI investment targets the 30% of workers behind desks, while the real ROI lies in the 70% running industrial operations in aerospace, energy, logistics, and manufacturing. Arrakis positions itself against competitors like Palantir, Prometheus, and consulting firms, claiming its technology is AI-native and more cost-effective. The company has hired former Palantir staff, including a former head of procurement and supply-chain.
