Arajet Resumes Nonstop Flights Between Punta Cana and Guayaquil in October 2026

Dominican low-cost carrier Arajet has announced the resumption of nonstop flights between Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic and José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The service is scheduled to restart in October 2026, aiming to restore direct air connectivity between the two nations. Initially, the airline will operate two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft configured for 186 passengers. The outbound flight, DM6780, departs Punta Cana at 11:15 p.m. and arrives in Guayaquil at 2:15 a.m. the following day, while the return flight, DM6781, leaves Guayaquil at 3:18 a.m. and lands in Punta Cana at 8:03 a.m. This strategic move is designed to enhance connectivity for both leisure and business travelers, facilitating easier access to destinations across the Caribbean and the Americas. By offering competitive fares under its low-cost model, Arajet seeks to expand its footprint in South America. The reopening of this route is expected to strengthen tourism and commercial ties between the Dominican Republic and Ecuador, further reinforcing Punta Cana’s status as a leading aviation hub in the Caribbean region.
