Apple raises prices on key subscription services
Apple has quietly raised prices on several of its subscription services, including Apple Music and Apple One bundles, as part of a strategy to boost its high-margin Services revenue. Apple Music individual plans rose from $10.99 to $11.99, family from $16.99 to $19.99, and student from $5.99 to $6.99. The Apple One Family bundle increased from $25.95 to $27.95, and Premier from $37.95 to $39.95, while the Individual tier remained at $19.95. Apple cited rising licensing costs for the Apple Music increase. The move follows similar price hikes by Spotify earlier this year, narrowing the gap between the two streaming rivals. Services now account for roughly a quarter of Apple's revenue with gross margins above 75%, making it a critical profit driver that stabilizes the company beyond hardware sales. Analysts suggest the pricing strategy may push users toward the bundled Apple One offering.
