Anti-trafficking day to be observed in Palakkad
The Victims Information, Sensitisation, Welfare and Assistance Society (VISWAS), a voluntary organization, will observe the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30, 2026, in Palakkad, India. The event will be held at Bharathamatha CMI Public School, inaugurated by District Crime Branch Superintendent of Police Firoz M. Shefik. VISWAS secretary general and former deputy director of prosecutions P. Premnath will deliver the keynote address. The United Nations designates July 30 as the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons to raise awareness about human trafficking and support victims. This year's theme is 'Trapped behind the scam', highlighting the deceptive tactics used by traffickers.
