Andhra Pradesh signs MoU with UAE to establish food cluster; ₹100 crore processing unit planned in Chittoor
The Andhra Pradesh government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Arab Emirates to establish a UAE Food Cluster in the state, advancing an investment commitment made at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The agreement, signed between the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board and the UAE Food Cluster, aims to create an integrated food processing value chain to promote investments, trade, and exports. Dubai-based Floor Masters International announced an initial investment of ₹100 crore to set up a food processing unit in Chittoor district, planning to use Andhra Pradesh as an export base for 25 countries. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the state's strengths in horticulture, aquaculture, and logistics, while UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri praised the government's investor-friendly policies and quick approvals. The partnership will focus on food processing, cold-chain infrastructure, and exports of seafood, dairy, poultry, and pulses through Krishnapatnam and Kakinada ports.
