Adverse weather delays Liverpool flight to New York ahead of Wrexham friendly
Liverpool's pre-season tour in the United States has been disrupted by adverse weather conditions. The team's flight from Chicago to New York was cancelled, forcing them to delay travel until Wednesday, July 29, the day of their scheduled friendly against Wrexham at Yankee Stadium. The match is part of a series of pre-season games for British clubs in the US. Liverpool, managed by Andoni Iraola, will also face Leeds United on August 2. Wrexham, co-owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, previously beat Leeds United in the US. Liverpool's Premier League season begins August 23 against Newcastle United, while Wrexham's Championship campaign starts August 17 against Cardiff City.
