AAP and BJP Clash Over Delhi Waterlogging; Chief Minister Inspects City by Bus
Following heavy rainfall that caused widespread waterlogging in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) engaged in a political spat. AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj criticized the BJP-led government, sharing a video of schoolchildren wading through waist-deep water in Sadar Bazar. Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra countered that the city had faced waterlogging for 27 years prior to 2025 and claimed the Rekha Gupta government had resolved 75% of the problem. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta traveled by a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus to assess ground conditions, reviewing drainage systems, waste disposal, and road cleanliness. She instructed officials to strengthen drainage to prevent future waterlogging. The India Meteorological Department reported 57.6 mm of rainfall in Delhi on Tuesday, with more rain expected.
