YES Network and MSG Networks to Move Local Sports Streaming to DAZN, Exit Gotham App
The YES Network and MSG Networks are leaving their joint venture streaming service, Gotham Sports, and migrating their direct-to-consumer offerings to the global streaming platform DAZN. This move will affect local games for major New York and New Jersey teams, including MLB's New York Yankees, the NBA's New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets, and the NHL's New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and New Jersey Devils. The transition will occur during the 2026-2027 NBA and NHL seasons, while Yankees fans can finish the current season on Gotham. Pay TV bundle customers will be able to stream games on DAZN for free. The decision reflects the ongoing disruption of regional sports networks due to cord-cutting, as networks seek new ways to reach subscribers. DAZN, a global sports streamer, aims to expand its U.S. presence through this deal.
