Hoover Institution Launches The Sowell Legacy, a New Multimedia Series on Thomas Sowell's Life, Ideas, and Influence
The Hoover Institution will premiere 'The Sowell Legacy' on July 30, a multimedia series exploring the life, work, and influence of economist and public intellectual Thomas Sowell. The six-episode series combines conversations, archival footage, photography, and animation, drawing on Hoover's 2025 Thomas Sowell Legacy Conference. It features participants including Justice Clarence Thomas, Victor Davis Hanson, Niall Ferguson, Coleman Hughes, Glenn Loury, Roland Fryer, Charles Murray, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and others. Episodes examine Sowell's contributions to economics, race and culture, education, social policy, and intellectual freedom, covering works like 'Basic Economics' and 'A Conflict of Visions'. The series opens with a discussion on Sowell's work as a cultural historian. New installments will be released throughout summer and fall across Hoover's digital platforms.
