Myanmar Junta Leader Plans Cambodia Visit, Meets Putin in Russia
Myanmar’s military-appointed President Min Aung Hlaing is reportedly planning a state visit to Cambodia, his third to an ASEAN member since April, as part of a diplomatic push to normalize ties with the bloc, which excluded the junta over its failure to implement the Five-Point Consensus peace plan. Concurrently, he departed for Moscow to meet President Putin and attend an economic forum, deepening bilateral cooperation in defense, trade, and space. These moves aim to counter international isolation following the 2021 coup.
