A 19-year-old man, identified as Bhupinder Singh, is in critical condition after suffering a partially severed arm and multiple grievous injuries during a brutal sword attack in Zirakpur, Punjab. The incident occurred on Friday at Highland Park ground and appears to stem from an old rivalry between two local groups. According to police, Bhupinder arrived at the scene after his brother, Ranveer Singh, reported being assaulted by Gurpreet Singh. Upon arrival, Bhupinder was confronted by Gurpreet and six to seven associates. An argument escalated into violence, resulting in Gurpreet striking Bhupinder with a sword, severely damaging his right arm near the elbow, chest, and waist. The assailants also injured Ranveer before fleeing the scene with death threats. Police responded within ten minutes, transporting the victim to Civil Hospital Dhakoli and later to Government Medical College in Chandigarh. A case has been registered against Gurpreet Singh and unidentified accomplices under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
