19-Year-Old Man Murdered by Three Minors in Salem

A 19-year-old man named Gokul was allegedly murdered by three of his friends, all minors aged 17, in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred on the evening of May 10, 2026, at the Jarugumalai Foothills. According to police reports, the group had gathered to consume alcohol when a verbal altercation escalated into violence. The three minors reportedly attacked Gokul using stones and knives while he was in an inebriated state. Gokul sustained grievous injuries and died at the scene. Following the discovery of the body, the Mallur police initiated an investigation and sent the remains to Salem Government Hospital for a postmortem examination. On Monday, May 11, 2026, authorities arrested the three suspects. Due to their status as minors, they have been lodged in a government observation home rather than a standard prison facility.
