WADA Chief Witold Banka and investigations head Gunter Younger visited New Delhi to strengthen ties with Indian law enforcement, specifically the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and cyber crime cells. The agency aims to shift its strategy from athlete-focused testing to a top-down approach targeting criminal supply chains, including manufacturers, agents, coaches, and doctors. This collaboration seeks to protect athlete health and uphold sports credibility. Despite previous successes in global raids under Operation Upstream, India remains a critical focus due to its status as the leading producer of illegal PEDs and its high number of doping violations for three consecutive years. In 2024, 260 out of 7,113 samples tested positive in India.
