VMRDA Chiefs Order Swift Completion of Roads to Bhogapuram Airport

Officials from the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) have directed the accelerated construction of priority Master Plan roads intended to provide essential connectivity to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport. VMRDA Chairman M.V. Pranav Gopal and Metropolitan Commissioner N. Tej Bharat conducted a joint inspection on Monday morning to review ongoing bituminous road works stretching from Nerellavalasa to Tallavalasa. During the site visit, they engaged with the engineering team to assess current project progress and emphasize the urgency of the timeline. The authorities issued strict instructions ensuring that all remaining road works are completed within the stipulated deadlines, specifically targeting completion by the end of June. Furthermore, a clear warning was issued against any compromise on the quality of construction materials or execution standards. According to an official release, three out of the seven major roads undertaken by the VMRDA have already been completed. The remaining four roads are currently under construction and are scheduled for finalization in the coming weeks. This initiative highlights the regional government's focus on improving infrastructure to support the new international airport's operational readiness and enhance regional connectivity in Visakhapatnam.
