Vizag Port Leads India's Cruise Industry Push at Global Summit in Miami

The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) played a pivotal role at the Seatrade Cruise Global 2026 summit in Miami, USA, showcasing India's expanding ambitions in the international cruise tourism sector. Led by VPA Chairperson M. Angamuthu, a high-level Indian delegation positioned the newly established Vizag International Cruise Terminal as a central component of the national 'Cruise Bharat Mission.' During the four-day event from April 13 to 16, officials emphasized Visakhapatnam's strategic location as a primary gateway for South Asian tourism. The delegation engaged in significant discussions with major global cruise operators, including Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, and MSC Cruises. These negotiations aimed to establish new maritime travel routes incorporating Indian ports, with the objective of attracting thousands of international tourists to the region. This initiative highlights India's efforts to integrate deeper into the global shipping circuit and boost local economic opportunities through enhanced maritime tourism infrastructure.
