Vector Institute and Fields Institute Launch 2018-2019 Machine Learning Seminar Series
The Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence, in partnership with the Fields Institute, has announced the schedule for the 2018-2019 Machine Learning Advances and Applications Seminar series. This initiative aims to strengthen the machine learning community in Ontario by bringing together international speakers, academic faculty, and industry experts. The seminars are designed for university faculty, graduate students in fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, and Medicine, as well as PhD-level data scientists engaged in applied research. The series features bi-weekly sessions held every other Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., commencing on October 18, 2018. The inaugural session features Kyunghyun Cho from New York University, who will present on 'Three Recent Directions in Neural Machine Translation.' Attendees can participate in person or via live stream through the Fields Institute website. This collaboration highlights the growing emphasis on artificial intelligence research and education within the Canadian academic and industrial sectors, fostering knowledge exchange and networking opportunities for professionals and students dedicated to advancing machine learning technologies and applications.
