The Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence has awarded merit-based scholarships totaling up to $2.1 million to 120 top graduate students across Ontario for the 2025-26 academic year. Each recipient receives $17,500 through the Vector Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence (VSAI) program, which supports students enrolled in recognized master’s programs or individualized AI study paths. Since its launch in 2018, the initiative has supported over 800 students, helping to strengthen Ontario’s position as a global hub for AI excellence. The scholarship provides not only financial aid but also access to professional networks, industry events, and the Vector Digital Talent Hub, facilitating connections with major employers. Government officials, including Vic Fedeli and Nolan Quinn, praised the program for fostering innovation and economic resilience by bridging academia and industry. To date, Ontario organizations have hired more than 2,500 Vector-affiliated AI master’s graduates. This eighth round of awards highlights the growing demand for AI talent, with recipients spanning diverse fields such as engineering, computer science, and health informatics across 15 universities.
