Vector Institute Appoints Roxana Sultan as Vice President of Health
The Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence has announced the appointment of Roxana Sultan as its new Vice President, Health. Effective immediately, Sultan will lead the institute's strategic contributions to the health sectors in Ontario and Canada. Her primary responsibilities include driving the application of artificial intelligence in life sciences, fostering research collaborations, and managing health sector and industrial sponsor projects. Sultan aims to achieve short-, medium-, and long-term impacts within the Ontario health ecosystem. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health, where she implemented evidence-based clinical quality improvements in obstetric, neonatal, and paediatric services. Her extensive career includes leadership roles at The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Cancer Care Ontario, and the Hospital for Sick Children. Additionally, Sultan is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto, teaching graduate-level courses on intelligent medicine and machine learning, and serves as Vice Chair of the Board for the Canadian Cancer Society – Ontario Division. She holds a Masters of Health Science from the University of Toronto.
