Vector Institute Announces 2021 Postgraduate Affiliate Program Cohort
The Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence has officially announced the selection of its 2021 Postgraduate Affiliate Program candidates. This new cohort consists of 30 talented researchers, comprising 28 new members and two returning affiliates, who join a broader community of over 500 researchers. Established in 2018, the program aims to foster engagement and collaboration among early-career AI professionals, including graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The selected individuals represent various universities and institutions across Ontario, such as the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and Western University. Their diverse research interests span core machine learning, neuroscience, health, computational linguistics, natural language processing, computer vision, and AI fairness. Selection for this competitive program is based on the strength of applicants' past research contributions and the alignment of their interests with Vector’s mission. These new affiliates join the 16 members from the 2020 cohort who are completing their two-year terms. The announcement highlights Vector's ongoing commitment to advancing artificial intelligence research through academic partnership and talent development within the Ontario region.
