Udhayanidhi Stalin Claims BJP Leader Shifted Constituency Fearing Defeat

DMK youth wing leader and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin alleged that BJP State President Nainar Nagenthran shifted his candidacy from the Tirunelveli Assembly constituency to Sattur due to fears of a significant electoral defeat. Speaking at a campaign rally for DMK candidate A. Kadarakarairaj in Sattur, Stalin claimed Nagenthran feared losing his security deposit in Tirunelveli. He urged Sattur voters to ensure Nagenthran faces a similar outcome in his new constituency. Stalin highlighted Kadarakarairaj’s local service record as District Panchayat President to justify his nomination. The campaign speech also focused on promoting the DMK government's welfare initiatives, including free laptops for students, breakfast schemes, and free bus travel for women. Additionally, Stalin announced that monthly assistance under the Mahalir Urimaithogai scheme would increase to ₹2,000 if the DMK forms the next government after the April 23 elections. He further cited local infrastructure developments, such as a ₹48 crore underground drainage system in Sattur and bus stand renovations, as evidence of the party's commitment to regional development.
