Shenzhen-based robotics firm UBTECH, in collaboration with the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, has officially launched the Tiangong Walker, a full-size humanoid robot designed specifically for research and educational purposes. Priced at RMB 299,000 (approximately $41,310), it is marketed as the industry’s first research-grade humanoid robot under the RMB 300,000 threshold, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second quarter. The robot stands 170 cm tall and features a biomimetic torso, 20 degrees of freedom, and the ability to run at 10 km/h across varied terrains including slopes and snow. Constructed with titanium alloys and high-torque density joints, it offers durability and impact resistance suitable for rigorous testing. The Tiangong Walker supports modular expansion with components like LiDAR, depth cameras, and NVIDIA Orin computing boards, offering up to 550 TOPS of computing power.
