The vehicles involved were a Ford Escape SUV and a GMC pickup truck towing a trailer. The deceased victims, identified as a 33-year-old woman and a 63-year-old woman from Calgary, were occupants of the SUV. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other passed away later in the hospital. Two other passengers from the SUV, including a child airlifted to Alberta Children’s Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance, remain in critical condition. The driver of the pickup truck was also hospitalized with serious injuries. Local roads were closed for several hours following the crash. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the accident.
