Two Killed in Two-Wheeler and Van Collision in Polavaram District

A fatal road accident occurred in the Polavaram district, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident took place near Abhicharla village in the Kunavaram mandal on Monday, May 11, 2026. A two-wheeler carrying three passengers collided with a van that was laden with gravel. The deceased have been identified as Vannam Lakshman from Pandrqjupalli village and Paddam Karthik from Mullooru village in the Pilavadam district. A third person traveling on the two-wheeler sustained injuries in the crash. At the time of the accident, the trio was reportedly heading towards Chittoor. Local police from Kunavaram rushed to the scene immediately after the collision. They recovered the bodies and transported them to the Government hospital in the Pilavadam district for post-mortem procedures. Authorities have registered a case regarding the incident, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the collision. This tragic event highlights ongoing road safety concerns in the region, particularly involving heavy vehicles and two-wheelers on rural roads.
