The victims, identified as 14-year-old Josef Ndumba and 13-year-old Tende Rayne, were rushed to Rundu State Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Ndumba sustained injuries to his arm, while Rayne suffered multiple injuries to his stomach and legs. Police reported that both boys are in serious but stable condition. Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, the head of criminal investigations for Kavango East, confirmed the details and stated that investigations are ongoing. In response to the incident, authorities issued a urgent warning to residents living near military installations. Kanyetu urged the community not to handle any suspicious objects or unknown devices found in the vicinity of military bases. Instead, he instructed locals to report such findings immediately to the nearest police station to prevent further accidents and ensure public safety.
