TVK Unveils 2026 Assembly Election Manifesto with Welfare and Tech Promises

In the lead-up to the 2026 Assembly Elections, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has officially released its election manifesto, outlining a comprehensive suite of welfare schemes and development initiatives. The party promises significant financial assistance, including ₹2,500 monthly aid for individuals under 60 and annual support of ₹15,000 for guardians of students in government schools to prevent dropouts. Social welfare measures include providing eight grams of gold and silk sarees for indigent brides, along with interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh for women-run Self-Help Groups. Economically, TVK pledges full or partial waivers on agricultural cooperative crop loans and guarantees Minimum Support Prices for paddy and sugarcane. Employment generation is a key focus, with commitments to create five lakh new government jobs, offer five lakh stipendiary internships, and provide monthly aid to unemployed graduates. Notably, the manifesto includes ambitious technological goals, such as establishing an AI Ministry, AI University, and AI City. While Prime Minister Modi urged unity for social security elsewhere, TVK’s platform emphasizes corruption-free governance and extensive state-sponsored support for farmers, women, and youth.
