Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is reportedly planning a significant expansion of its advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. The company intends to increase the number of its 2-nanometer process wafer fabrication plants in Taiwan from seven to ten. This expansion involves constructing three new fabs in Tainan, which will complement existing 2nm production facilities located in Hsinchu and Kaohsiung. Each new facility is estimated to cost approximately NT$300 billion ($9.3 billion), resulting in a total investment of NT$900 billion ($28 billion) for the three sites.
