TIMS Sanathnagar Operation Theatres Ready, Diagnostic Equipment Enters Testing Phase

The Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar, Hyderabad, has completed the preparation of its operation theatres for surgical procedures. Additionally, the installation of advanced diagnostic equipment, including CT Scan, MRI, and digital X-ray machines, is finished and currently undergoing testing. During a review meeting on Monday, Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha was briefed on the trial run of medical services at the facility. The Minister directed health department officials to further develop TIMS into a comprehensive healthcare provider, emphasizing the strengthening of specialized cardiac and organ transplant care infrastructure. He inquired about the readiness of cath labs and dedicated transplant operation theatres while seeking detailed updates on outpatient registration, consultation rooms, waiting areas, inpatient wards, ICUs, and radiology services. Officials highlighted operational challenges identified during the trial phase. Furthermore, the Minister stressed the importance of improving non-medical services, directing officials to enhance sanitation and security management. He also suggested arranging dining facilities for patients and their attendants to ensure a better overall hospital experience. The state government remains focused on establishing robust specialized care capabilities at the institute.
