A three-year-old girl named Sukanya was critically injured after a stray dog entered her home in Omallur, Pathanamthitta, and launched a violent attack. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when the animal breached the kitchen door. The child’s mother rescued her from the dog’s grip, and Sukanya was subsequently transferred to the Government Medical College Hospital in Kottayam for specialized treatment, where she remains in critical condition. Authorities believe the same dog had attacked two other individuals earlier that day: a man identified as Rajan during a morning walk and a local priest. Both victims are receiving medical care. The dog remains at large, prompting a search by residents who fear it may be rabid. In a separate but related wildlife incident, a 77-year-old woman in Thengamam was injured by a wild boar while collecting firewood.
