Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Pledges Annual Education Budget Growth to 15%

Telangana Chief Minister and Education Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the state government will gradually increase education budget allocations to 15% of the annual budget. Speaking at the inauguration of 'Exclusive Education Week' in Hyderabad, Reddy explained that while the Telangana Education Commission recommended 17%, a sudden jump from the current 7.6% was not feasible. He emphasized that education is a top priority and investments will grow yearly. During the event, part of the 'Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika' governance plan, Reddy unveiled infrastructure projects worth ₹1,700 crore. These funds are designated for constructing 11 integrated school complexes, adding classrooms, and establishing pre-primary sections in government schools within Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region Economy. The CM also highlighted recent initiatives, including the recruitment of over 11,000 teachers and global exchange programs to Finland. He aimed to transform Telangana into a national model for public education, stressing that teaching is an emotional responsibility rather than just a job. The week-long celebration involves district-level activities to showcase progress and improve learning facilities.
