Telangana Electricity Artisans JAC Calls Off Strike After Government Assurances

The Telangana Electricity Artisans Joint Action Committee (JAC) has officially called off its strike with immediate effect on April 17, 2026, following productive negotiations with state government officials in Hyderabad. The decision came after Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka provided assurances that the concerns of the electricity artisans would be addressed. During the meeting, the Deputy CM emphasized the inappropriateness of sudden strikes during the summer peak demand period and highlighted the existing ban on such industrial actions. He directed the Transmission Corporation of Telangana (TRANSCO) Chairman and Managing Director, Krishna Bhaskar, to hold further discussions with the JAC leaders to resolve issues that do not impose a financial burden on the corporation. JAC Chairman Satish Reddy announced the withdrawal of the strike, while Convener Sailu expressed gratitude to the Energy Minister for his positive response. The resolution underscores the government's commitment to maintaining uninterrupted power supply while engaging in dialogue with employee unions to address their grievances through established administrative channels.
