Telangana ACB Arrests Excise Inspector for Accepting ₹2 Lakh Bribe in Kamareddy

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana arrested an Excise Inspector, identified as Deenu Satyanarayana, on April 17, 2026, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh. The incident occurred in the Bichkunda area of the Kamareddy district. According to reports, the officer was trapped at his rented residence during the transaction with a complainant. The bribe was reportedly demanded in exchange for official favors, specifically to refrain from pressuring the complainant to relocate toddy shops from certain villages and to avoid registering further legal cases against them. This arrangement would have allowed the shops to operate without administrative interference. Following the arrest, the ACB issued a public appeal urging citizens to report any instances of bribery or corruption by public servants. The bureau highlighted its toll-free number, 1064, as the designated channel for such complaints.
