TechJutsu Launches Browser Extension to Enhance MFA and Combat Vishing
Calgary-based cybersecurity firm TechJutsu has launched the Caller Verify Universal Connector, a browser extension designed to integrate multi-factor authentication (MFA) into web applications. This new tool aims to protect users and service desks from voice-phishing (vishing) attacks, which have surged by over 400 percent in 2024 according to CrowdStrike. Traditional identity verification methods, such as security questions about personal history, are increasingly vulnerable due to the widespread availability of personal data on social media. The extension operates as an overlay in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, integrating with major CRM platforms like Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Teams. It allows service agents, including AI-driven ones, to send MFA prompts directly to a caller’s device. Upon approval, the system updates the agent’s interface with a real-time verified status, ensuring high-assurance identity verification while creating logged events for compliance. This solution addresses critical vulnerabilities in customer service workflows, offering a secure alternative to knowledge-based authentication. The business-to-business tool is available on the Chrome Web Store but requires a subscription to TechJutsu’s Caller Verify service.
