Tamil Nadu Government Formation: TVK and AMMK Clash Over Alleged Forged Support Letter

The process of forming the government in Tamil Nadu has encountered significant controversy as the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) engage in a dispute over political support. AMMK chief T.T.V. Dhinakaran accused the TVK of submitting a forged letter to the Governor, claiming it falsely represented the support of AMMK’s lone MLA-elect, Kamaraj. In response, the TVK released a video allegedly showing Kamaraj writing the support letter. Meanwhile, the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) is expected to announce its backing for TVK leader Vijay soon. With unconditional support already secured from two Left parties, the Congress, CPI, and CPI(M), the TVK currently holds support from nine additional MLAs. Having won 108 seats in the recent fractured Assembly elections, the TVK requires just two more MLAs to reach the majority threshold of 118. This development highlights the intense negotiations and allegations surrounding the post-election coalition building in the state.
