Sudan War Enters Fourth Year Amid Military Impasse and Humanitarian Crisis

As Sudan's civil war enters its fourth year, the conflict remains deadlocked between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with neither side achieving a decisive victory. The army has regained control of key areas including Khartoum, Wad Madani, and parts of Kordofan, establishing dominance in northern, central, and eastern states. Conversely, the RSF consolidates power in Darfur after capturing el-Fasher and controls significant portions of West Kordofan, including the Heglig oil region. The RSF has also expanded operations into Blue Nile State. Despite military shifts, the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, particularly in Darfur, while economic conditions worsen nationwide.
