State Sanctions ₹31.73 Crore Water Supply Project for Dharmavaram

The State government has officially sanctioned a drinking water project worth ₹31.73 crore for the Dharmavaram municipality in Sri Sathya Sai district. Approved under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, this initiative addresses the town's long-standing demand for improved water infrastructure. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav played a key role in securing approval for the project, which aims to enhance distribution reliability and supply quality. Key components include installing new pumping systems, such as vertical turbine pumps at the CBR intake well and Thammapuram village, and constructing three elevated service reservoirs with a capacity of 1,000 KL each in Ramnagar-2, Shantinagar, and Giriraj Colony. The existing water treatment plant will be upgraded to a 10 MLD facility to meet rising demand. Additionally, the project involves laying over 35 km of HDPE pipelines and 722 meters of DI K9 pipelines, along with necessary valve installations and road restoration. To ensure operational efficiency and better future planning, the upgraded network will integrate automation, GIS mapping, and hydraulic modelling. This significant investment marks a major step toward ensuring safe and consistent drinking water access for residents of Dharmavaram.
