Shooter in Rohit Shetty House Firing Case Arrested in Agra
A joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Mumbai Police Crime Branch has resulted in the arrest of Pradeep Kumar, also known as Gaath, a key accused in the shooting incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. The arrest took place in the Chhadami Mattha area of Agra on April 16, 2026. The firing occurred on February 1, 2026, at Shetty Tower in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Authorities allege that the attack was orchestrated by the notorious Shubham Lonkar gang to extort money and instill fear within the film industry. Investigations revealed that Kumar, an Agra resident, was motivated by the gang’s social media presence and aimed to establish underworld dominance. He confessed to committing the crime with associates Sunny, Deepu, and Sonu. This arrest follows the earlier detention of eight other suspects. Kumar has been handed over to Mumbai Police for transit remand and further legal proceedings under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Arms Act, and Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
