SHE Teams Detain 88 Individuals for Eve-Teasing in Malkajgiri

The SHE Teams of the Malkajgiri Police in Hyderabad successfully detained 88 individuals involved in the harassment of women and girls during a two-week crackdown. The operations, conducted between March 16 and March 31, 2026, utilized decoy tactics where officers dressed in plain clothes monitored high-traffic areas such as bus stands, railway stations, metro stations, educational institutions, and marketplaces. Among those detained, 15 were minors. The police registered nine criminal cases and 20 petty cases against the offenders. Additionally, 66 individuals underwent counseling sessions in the presence of their family members, facilitated by professional counselors. Those apprehended with evidence of stalking or harassing women were produced before the courts. This initiative highlights the continued efforts by local law enforcement to combat eve-teasing and ensure public safety for women through proactive surveillance and legal action. The operation underscores the specific role of specialized police units in addressing gender-based harassment in urban environments.
