RTGS Technology Aids in Arrest of Sexual Harassment Accused in Tirupati

Police authorities successfully traced and apprehended a man accused of sexual harassment in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, leveraging advanced surveillance technology. The suspect, originally from Karnataka, had allegedly harassed a woman under the pretext of a romantic relationship. Following the registration of a formal complaint against him, he fled his home state and sought refuge in Tirupati. A joint effort between the Karnataka Police and the Andhra Pradesh Police facilitated the investigation. Officers utilized the CCTV360 system managed by the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) to track the accused's movements. Through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) analysis, the system generated critical alerts regarding the suspect's vehicle location. These technological insights allowed law enforcement to pinpoint the accused's exact whereabouts in Tirupati. Consequently, the police team moved in and took the individual into custody. This case highlights the increasing role of real-time governance technologies and inter-state police cooperation in solving crimes and tracking fugitives across regional boundaries in India.
