At CES 2026, Chinese technology firm RayNeo launched the X3 Pro Project eSIM AR glasses, marking a significant milestone as the first consumer augmented reality eyewear capable of fully independent operation. Unlike previous models that require tethering to a smartphone, these glasses feature built-in eSIM technology and 4G connectivity, enabling users to make calls, engage in multi-modal AI conversations, perform instant language translation, and stream music without any external device. The hardware is driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 platform and operates on RayNeo’s proprietary AR application virtual machine. Visually, the device utilizes dual-eye full-color MicroLED displays combined with nano-etched waveguide technology. This setup provides a visual experience comparable to a 43-inch transparent screen while supporting 16.7 million colors. Despite these advanced features, RayNeo has maintained a lightweight design, with the new model weighing only two grams more than its predecessor.
