Rajasthan CM Claims 18.77% Drop in Crime Rate Under BJP Rule

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced an 18.77% decrease in the state's crime rate over the past two years under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. Speaking at the 77th Rajasthan Police Foundation Day ceremony in Jaipur, Sharma attributed this decline to robust policing strategies and a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. He highlighted specific reductions, including a 25% drop in murder cases, a 47% decrease in robberies, and nearly a 10% reduction in crimes against women. The Chief Minister emphasized that these security improvements have strengthened public trust, boosted the economy, and promoted tourism. To sustain these efforts, the state has recruited over 8,000 constables, established new police units, and formed specialized task forces to combat narcotics and organized crime. Sharma also noted Rajasthan's leading role in implementing new central criminal laws and stressed the importance of community policing in addressing emerging challenges like cybercrime and drug abuse. The event included a ceremonial parade and the presentation of medals for distinguished service to police personnel, attended by senior officials and public representatives.
