Ragi Procurement Under MSP to End in Mysuru on May 15

The procurement of ragi from farmers under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme for the 2025-26 season is scheduled to conclude in the Mysuru district on May 15, 2026. This directive was issued by the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation to ensure timely arrangements for the distribution of ragi under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) during May and June. Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy announced that all ragi purchase centers operating under the MSP scheme in the district will cease operations after this deadline. Farmers who have registered to sell their produce to the government at the support price are urgently advised to contact procurement officers in their respective taluks. They must deliver their harvested ragi to the designated procurement centers before the May 15 cutoff. This administrative decision aims to streamline the supply chain for public distribution systems, ensuring that essential food grains are available for beneficiaries in the upcoming months. The announcement serves as a final call for local agriculturists to complete their transactions with state authorities to avoid missing out on the guaranteed minimum price support provided by the Karnataka state government for the current agricultural season.
