Australian airline Qantas is preparing to launch the world’s longest commercial flights next year, connecting Sydney directly to London and New York. The new routes will utilize the specially configured Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft, capable of flying non-stop for up to 22 hours. This duration significantly exceeds the current record held by Singapore Airlines. To support these ultra-long-haul journeys, the aircraft features an additional 20,000-litre fuel tank and a reduced capacity of 238 seats to prioritize passenger wellbeing.
