Python Software Foundation Launches Community Partner Program
The Python Software Foundation (PSF) has announced the launch of the PSF Community Partner Program, a new initiative designed to provide non-financial, in-kind support to Python-related events and initiatives. This program allows qualified partners to use the PSF logo and name, while receiving promotional assistance through official PSF social media channels. The initiative was developed as an alternative support mechanism during the temporary pause of the PSF Grants Program, though it will continue even after grants resume. The long-term goal is to help community events become financially sustainable through sponsors and donors rather than relying solely on PSF funds. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a positive impact on the Python community, maintain an established web presence, and enforce a Code of Conduct. Applications are reviewed by the Grants Work Group and must be submitted at least six weeks prior to an event. The PSF also indicated that strong community fundraising efforts have strengthened its position to eventually reopen the Grants Program in a sustainable manner.
