Puducherry Government Schools See 18.54% Rise in CBSE Class 10 Pass Rate

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced on April 16, 2026, that government schools in the Union Territory of Puducherry achieved a significant improvement in academic performance for the 2025-26 academic year. The overall pass percentage for Class 10 students increased by 18.54%, rising from 81.25% in the previous year to an impressive 99.79% this year. Out of 5,594 students who appeared for the board examinations, 5,582 successfully passed. This surge in results highlights a robust educational turnaround, with 115 out of 122 government schools securing a perfect 100% pass rate. Regional breakdowns indicate that the Mahe and Yanam regions achieved a flawless 100% pass percentage. Meanwhile, the Puducherry region recorded a 99.82% pass rate, with 79 schools achieving full results, and the Karaikal region followed closely with 99.56%. This official release underscores the effectiveness of recent educational initiatives within the territory's government school system, marking a notable milestone in local academic standards and student success rates for the current examination cycle.
