Postal Voting for Polling Personnel Begins in Coimbatore for TN Assembly Elections

Postal ballot voting for polling personnel engaged in election duty commenced on April 15, 2026, in Coimbatore district for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Facilitation centers were established at training venues across all ten constituencies to allow approximately 16,992 polling staff to cast their votes while attending mandatory training sessions. Officials announced that personnel missing this initial session could vote during a second round of training scheduled for April 19. Additionally, separate facilitation centers at Returning Officers' offices were set up for around 18,000 essential service personnel, including police officers, who are expected to vote between April 17 and 19. Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran inspected the arrangements in several constituencies, emphasizing strict adherence to Election Commission of India guidelines.
