Porsche Unveils First-Ever Convertible 911 GT3 S/C with Manual Transmission
Porsche has introduced the 911 GT3 S/C, marking a historic first for the brand by combining its legendary 4-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine with a convertible body. Priced at 276,500 euros, this new model is positioned as the open-top counterpart to the 911 S/T anniversary edition. Unlike previous limited runs, production of the GT3 S/C will not be restricted. The vehicle emphasizes lightweight engineering, utilizing carbon fiber for the hood, wings, and doors, along with magnesium components for the roof frame and rims. Despite the addition of an electric soft top and necessary body reinforcements, the S/C weighs only 30 kilograms more than the 2019 Speedster. It features a strict two-seater layout, though an 80-liter storage box is available as an accessory. Mechanically, it delivers 510 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox to preserve traditional driving sensations. The chassis inherits technology from the GT3 Touring, including a double wishbone front axle, ensuring high-performance handling. This release highlights Porsche's strategy to cater to enthusiasts seeking pure driving pleasure without compromising on the iconic GT3 performance credentials.
