This partnership enables MAHE researchers to publish unlimited articles in all PLOS journals without individual article processing charges. The agreement utilizes PLOS’s Community Action Publishing, Global Equity, and Flat Fee models, which shift publishing costs from individual authors to the research institution. Dr. Santhosh KV of MAHE highlighted that this collaboration removes financial barriers and enhances the global visibility of Indian research. Roheena Anand from PLOS emphasized the alignment with their vision for equitable, barrier-free publishing. The deal was facilitated by SPUR Infosolutions, marking the first introduction of these specific institutional models to the Indian market.
