Plateau Governor Tightens Security and Vows Justice After Recent Attacks

Following deadly attacks in Plateau State, Nigeria, Governor Caleb Mutfwang visited affected communities in Barkin Ladi and Bassa Local Government Areas to offer condolences and assure residents of government support. Accompanied by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Bernard Doro, Mutfwang met with survivors and local stakeholders, promising that perpetrators would face justice and complicit security personnel would be prosecuted. To enhance safety, the governor announced strict new security measures, including a ban on night mining with all activities required to cease by 5 p.m., and a prohibition on night grazing and grazing by underage children. He urged livestock owners and parents to ensure proper supervision. Mutfwang also assured farmers of improved security for the upcoming planting season and announced plans to subsidize fertilizer distribution. While emphasizing that Plateau remains the 'Home of Peace and Tourism,' he directed security agencies to intensify efforts to identify and arrest those behind the violence. The Federal Government, represented by Minister Doro, pledged humanitarian intervention and recovery support for the displaced families and bereaved communities.
