People’s Manifesto 2026 Released in Coimbatore Ahead of Elections

Manickam Athappa Gounder, chairman of MAK and Managing Trustee of the Manu Neethi Foundation, officially released the ‘People’s Manifesto 2026’ in Coimbatore on Friday. The manifesto is designed to guide political parties and voters in the upcoming elections by outlining key priorities for sustainable governance and social welfare. Central to the document is a call for improving agricultural productivity and ensuring stable incomes for farmers in Tamil Nadu. It also emphasizes environmental sustainability, urging the state to become pollution-free through strict actions against sewage and waste pollution at the source. Furthermore, the manifesto advocates for a shift in healthcare focus from treatment to preventive care to promote healthy living. On the governance front, it stresses responsible administration, careful expenditure of public funds, and debt reduction. Mr. Athappa Gounder urged citizens to demand accountability and transparency, advising voters to reject money politics and false promises in favor of honesty, responsibility, and vision.
