Passengers Injured in Bus Collision Near Amaravati; No Fatalities Reported

A road accident occurred on Thursday near the Undavalli Caves in the Tadepalli mandal of Amaravati, Guntur district, resulting in injuries to several passengers but no fatalities. The collision involved an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus and a private bus belonging to VVIT Deemed to be University. Preliminary reports indicate that the university bus, allegedly traveling at high speed, lost control on a curve and rammed into the APSRTC vehicle. While the front sections of both buses were severely damaged, a major tragedy was avoided as no students were on board the university bus at the time. Passengers from the APSRTC bus sustained minor injuries and were discharged after treatment, whereas the driver of the university bus was hospitalized in Vijayawada following an anxiety attack. Local residents initiated immediate rescue efforts before emergency services arrived to transport the injured. The Tadepalli police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Guntur District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal confirmed that an inquiry is underway and reiterated that there were no deaths. Traffic in the area faced brief disruptions during the rescue operations.
